After hours services

The Preserve Counseling Center is an out client treatment facility. After hours services are not supported. If there is an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest medical treatment facility. You may leave a message on the office voicemail and your call will be returned the following business day. Please provide your name and a phone number where a message can be left if you are not available.

Your payment

Payment is required at the time of service in the form of cash or credit card. You will be responsible for paying in full for services. If The Preserve Counseling Center does not contract with your insurance company, a statement will be provided for each visit. You may submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to confirm benefits.The Preserve Counseling Center does not accept Medicaid or Medicare. Medicare clients must sign an acknowledgement that neither Medicare nor supplemental insurances will be billed by the office and cannot be billed by the client. The client is responsible for paying in full for services.The Preserve Counseling Center may offer a sliding scale fee for clients demonstrating financial need.

Your appointment

A notice of one business day must be given if you are unable to keep your appointment. The counselors of The Preserve Counseling Center are able to work on other task during the time of your missed appointment.  Therefore, you will be responsible for $25 of your scheduled appointment rate. The Preserve Counseling Center will accept the remainder of the financial loss since work can continue to be accomplished. Insurance will not typically reimburse you for missed appointments. Clients will not be charged for confirmed emergency cancellations. Should a regular pattern of failed appointments exist, alternative plans will be discussed including the option of selecting another counselor.

Forms, letters, and collateral contacts

It is recommended that all paperwork that requires completion by a counselor be presented at the beginning of a session. Otherwise, completion will depend upon available after hours schedule and will be billed at the office rate based on time needed to complete the task. All forms should be as complete as possible prior to submitting them to the counselor. Releases must be completed for forms to be forwarded directly to their recipients if other than client or guardians.

Contact with school officials, and other collateral contacts including other therapists, will be billed at the office rate when repeated calls become necessary, contact extends beyond 15 minutes, or scheduled conferences with professionals and families are specifically arranged.

Attendance at court hearings by court order or subpoena requires that the counselor’s scheduled appointments be cleared for each day of the proceedings. Therefore, a fee of five times the office rate is charged to the client for each day the counselor is required to appear for court. 

Telephone Contacts with Clients or Family

Counseling by telephone is not conducted by the counselors of The Preserve Counseling Center, because it is fraught with potential problems. Brief contacts may, however, be very helpful to a client. All brief telephone contacts of 5 minutes or less will be provided as a courtesy.
